Workshop

Our Bikeatoga Workshop is a volunteer-based bicycle recycling program that takes damaged or old bikes in repairable condition and repairs them to ride good as new.

We are located in the basement of The Church of St. Peter at 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY. Visitors can access our shop from the parking lot off Hamilton Street. The entrance is down a small set of stairs. Parking is permitted in the Hamilton lot.

How to Pick Up a Bike from Bikeatoga

We offer our bikes and services on a donation basis, with no one turned away for lack of funds. Our volunteer mechanics are on-hand to help direct bicycle repair of a bike selected from our inventory or of a personal bike. If you are seeking a bicycle for a child under 18, we ask that a responsible adult (over the age of 18) and the child come together. We rely on volunteers to maintain our program, and welcome volunteers of all levels of expertise. In order to be sure we have space for all volunteers, we ask that you signup to volunteer here.

Bikeatoga sponsors kid bike giveaways, generally in April and December.  Please check our calendar for scheduled dates. If your child is in need of a bike outside of those dates, please stop by during open workshop hours or contact us to arrange an appointment. This program is offered on a donation basis with no one turned away for lack of funds.

We sell a limited number of higher-end, ready-to-ride bikes on Craigslist. See what we have available here. All proceeds benefit Bikeatoga.

Learn With Us; Volunteer in the Shop

We welcome volunteers of any skill level to work on bicycles alongside our volunteer mechanics. Email info@bikeatoga.org to sign up or inquire about more volunteering opportunities, or you can signup here to volunteer. Volunteers are an essential part of Bikeatoga and are always needed. People are needed during open workshop hours to:

  • Manage the check-in station for workshop visitors

  • Organize and clean the workshop

  • Repair and restore bikes

  • Support kids bike giveaways

We also seek support on grant-writing, event organization, advocacy, and more. Please email us to get plugged into these initiatives.

We welcome high school students seeking volunteer hours and groups seeking volunteer opportunities! Please send us an email or or text to see how we can collaborate to improve accessibility to safe cycling for all.
