In September 2019, Bikeatoga hosted our first ever film festival- we were one of a dozen sites to host the Ciclismo Classico 10th Annual Bike Travel Film Festival. We at Bikeatoga plan to host another Ciclismo film festival in the coming years, when we can all gather together safely in our helmets and spandex and enjoy a screening in in person.

For now we encourage folks to check out the virtual 11th Annual Bike Travel Film Festival, rolling out WORLDWIDE next week. See more details in this message from Ciclismo below.

Ciclismo Classico is thrilled to present its 11th Annual Bike Travel Film Festival WORLDWIDE on Thursday, November 19th, at 7:00 PM EST

While the spread of COVID-19 keeps us from enjoying the films together in person, we’re excited to make our festival accessible to adventure-lovers anywhere in the world.

The Festival shares 9 unique films from all over the globe, many of which will celebrate their USA or World premiere at the event.  Our Grand Jury Prize-winning film, Journey to West Africa, follows a Dutch cyclist on his ride from his home in the Netherlands through Europe and the Sahara Desert to the Ivory Coast.  His good-natured attitude and cheerful storytelling won the hearts of all who have seen it.  You don’t have to be a cyclist to enjoy these tales of explorers aged 5 to 75 enjoying the world and the outdoors, so tell your friends and family to log in too!

The Regent Theatre, our longtime hosts, will be streaming the festival “live” for you to watch from the comfort of your own home.  We are taking advantage of technology and will have feature virtual visits from some of our filmmakers, along with some of the commentary and door prizes you’ve come to expect from our festival.  We’ll even share some cookie recipes to keep you in the spirit of our famous Cookie Showcase!

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for the online show will still go to our longtime beneficiary, Adventure Cycling Association.  There will also be opportunities to make a donation to keep the lights on at the Regent Theatre until we can come back in person.

Buy your tickets today and get ready to travel from Iowa to Scotland to Mt. Kilimanjaro without leaving home:

Stay safe and healthy, and we hope to “see” you on the 19th!
