Learning to Share the Roads in a Friendly Manner
BIKEATOGA is proud to present the screening of the highly acclaimed film, Bikes vs. Cars, which premiered at the SXSW film festival in 2015. This thrilling documentary looks at issues facing cyclists as they attempt to travel our city’s roads safely and conveniently, often thwarted by the inability of city infrastructures to provide a space for them. Filmmaker Fredrik Gertten has an upbeat, positive message as he guides us towards the future, imagining a world with safely shared streets and less traffic and pollution.
The film will be shown on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Filene Hall on the Skidmore campus at 7 pm – Door open at 6:30. This 90-minute presentation will be followed by a panel of local transportation planners, civic leaders, and individuals actively involved in Saratoga’s complete streets movement. The film is free of charge, although small donations will be accepted. Light refreshments will be served. Please come join us on this exciting, educational journey as we all work together to make Saratoga a city welcoming all forms of transportation, a beacon of success for upstate New York in the future!
